Plumbing Engineer III

Location: Hybrid in Burlington, Massachusetts, serving the Boston area

Salary: $90,000–$140,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop plumbing and fire protection systems, including sanitary and vent, storm, process waste, laboratory, domestic water, process gas, and sprinkler systems.
• Prepare calculations, reports, P&IDs, utility consumption summaries, piping plans, equipment plans, riser diagrams, construction drawings, and specifications.
• Support equipment selection, data sheets, material requisitions, vendor bid evaluations, technical specifications, and procurement packages.
• Perform code analysis and apply plumbing and fire protection standards to life science projects.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines, clients, vendors, contractors, and other external project participants.
• Provide construction assistance through submittal reviews, RFI responses, field visits, and construction administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of design experience in a consulting or design firm environment.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deliver work within agreed budgets and schedules.
• Ability to travel as needed for client and project development.
• FE registration or pursuit of, or an obtained, Professional Engineering license is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or cell and gene therapy facilities.
• Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
