VP Developer Platform Engineering (AI)

Location: Costa Mesa, United States; remote position with hybrid work conditions

Salary: $250,000–$350,000 annually, plus variable pay opportunity.

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, roadmap, and governance for the enterprise developer platform and AI engineering capabilities.
• Define standards for CI/CD, cloud platforms, developer tooling, and secure software delivery.
• Guide adoption of AI-enabled development tools, governance practices, and reusable AI solutions.
• Partner with engineering, security, cloud, and developer experience teams to deliver a consistent platform.
• Manage a global organization through senior leaders and build high-performing engineering teams.
• Own platform performance, adoption metrics, budgets, vendor investments, product priorities, and build-versus-buy decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in technology roles and 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Senior leadership experience in platform engineering and experience defining developer platforms in large, matrixed organizations.
• Hands-on depth with CI/CD platform authoring using Harness and/or GitHub Actions.
• Production-scale cloud-native infrastructure experience with at least one major cloud provider.
• Implementation-level familiarity with Claude Code and the MCP protocol.
• Working familiarity with SAST, SCA, secrets scanning, SBOM, artifact signing, AI developer tools, and AI governance.
