What you will do

• Own high-impact work on Elasticsearch at scale, including index design, partitioning strategy, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with domain experts to shape technical direction and infrastructure architecture.
• Execute high-impact projects involving application code, system automation, and low-level datastore tuning.
• Contribute to all phases of software development, from ideation and prototyping to implementation.
• Play an active role in the hiring, mentoring, and career development of other engineers.
• Raise technical standards for performance, reliability, and operational excellence across the platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a production environment with distributed systems design and architecture.
• Strong experience with at least one major production datastore, with expert-level knowledge of Elasticsearch.
• Expertise in backend technologies including MySQL, Memcached, and Linux.
• Proven track record of scaling SaaS products and delivering large multi-quarter technical projects.
• Proficiency in software engineering methodologies like unit testing, object-oriented design, and observability.
• Must be able to work from the Dublin office at least three days per week.

• Experience with sharding and database migration strategies for high-scale systems.
