Senior Software Engineer - Distributed Systems

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Salary: €96,000–€144,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design, build, and debug distributed systems across cloud-native production environments.
• Develop metrics ingestion, processing, and alerting services for large-scale observability platforms.
• Build tooling, APIs, and operational workflows that help engineers and AI agents operate infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering and site reliability teams to deliver resilient, observable, and operable infrastructure.
• Take end-to-end ownership of complex infrastructure problems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with production-grade systems.
• 4+ years designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems on public or private clouds.
• Strong knowledge of concurrency, fault tolerance, high availability, and failure-mode analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Go and experience with Python for tooling, automation, data processing, or machine learning workloads.
• Experience with observability platforms, Prometheus-style monitoring ecosystems, scalable HTTP and gRPC APIs, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building MCP servers, agent-facing APIs, or agentic engineering tooling.
• Experience with Helm, Jsonnet, Terraform, GitOps-style deployment pipelines, and multi-tenant platforms.
• Experience mentoring engineers and writing architecture designs, operational runbooks, and technical documentation.
