Principal Software Engineer - Search Infra - Elasticsearch

Salary: €102,700–€162,500 EUR per year in base salary; no variable compensation.

What you will do

• Define, lead, and contribute to the evolution of hirify.globalsearch's core search and indexing capabilities.
• Provide technical vision and direction for indexing, retrieval, query execution, and relevance layers.
• Research advances in search infrastructure, data structures, and retrieval algorithms.
• Lead technical projects and guide designs from concept through completion.
• Collaborate with partner and product teams to shape the long-term technical roadmap.
• Mentor expert engineers and serve as a subject-matter authority in key hirify.globalsearch domains.

Requirements

• Experience leading technical projects involving search infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Experience building and operating sophisticated, high-performance search platforms.
• Experience defining long-term technical vision for core search or retrieval systems across teams and organizations.
• Hands-on experience with hirify.globalsearch, Lucene, Solr, or comparable distributed storage engines.
• Strong core Java skills, including advanced data structures, concurrency constructs, lambdas, and algorithm optimization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously across distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience working with open-source projects.
• Familiarity with different source-control workflows and continuous integration.
