Senior Software Development Engineer (Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL)

What you will do

• Design and implement highly scalable distributed database systems for hirify.global Aurora.
• Build core software components for MySQL- and PostgreSQL-compatible cloud database engines.
• Develop systems that deliver strong availability, reliability, and performance guarantees across thousands of servers and multiple datacenters.
• Lead architecture and design for new and existing systems, including scaling and reliability patterns.
• Deliver production software to AWS customers and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• Professional, non-internship software development experience.
• Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design.
• Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers.
• Experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team leader.
• Experience leading architecture and design, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
• Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles.
