What you will do

• Design and implement highly scalable distributed database systems providing availability and performance guarantees.
• Build and own critical system software components for Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL compatible engines.
• Lead the architecture and design of new and existing cloud-native database services.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team.
• Collaborate on the development of core systems running across thousands of servers worldwide.

Requirements

• Professional, non-internship experience in software development.
• Proficiency in at least one modern object-oriented language such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Proven experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Strong background in architecture and design, specifically focused on reliability and scaling.
• Experience successfully delivering complex software systems to customers.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• Deep knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles.
• Experience with the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, and build processes.
