ADAS Mechanical Lead Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Develop mechanical systems for ADAS radar and camera sensors and ADCU units.
• Manage the full mechanical engineering development process from requirements and design through prototyping, validation, and production.
• Own structural, thermal, and enclosure design deliverables.
• Act as the technical interface for suppliers and customers.
• Identify technical risks, lead problem-solving, and drive technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams to achieve system-level integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proven experience as a technical lead or lead engineer.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, including structures, materials, thermodynamics, molding, stamping, plating, die casting, and machining.
• Business-level English and native-level Japanese communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, robotics, consumer electronics, or medical device industries.
• Hands-on experience with CAE tools such as FEA or CFD.
• Knowledge of FMEA, DRBFM, FTA, or similar design methodologies.
• Experience working in global or cross-cultural teams.
