Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design activities from concept development through detailed design, manufacture, testing, and deployment.
• Design engineering solutions for alternative power and fuel system integration across marine, industrial, and automotive projects.
• Apply Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly principles throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop CAD designs and release them in line with Bill of Materials requirements.
• Collaborate with CAE engineers, Project Managers, Principal Engineers, customers, suppliers, and certification bodies.
• Prepare design reports and technical presentations, mentor junior engineers, and support continuous improvement of design standards and processes.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of mechanical design engineering experience with complex engineering products.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience delivering products from concept through manufacture and deployment and leading engineering design activities.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, ideally CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, P&ID drawings, structural and vibration analysis, and electrical cable routing and management.
• Ability to work in a hybrid onsite arrangement in Brentwood and meet applicable security-clearance requirements; the role is clearable.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, marine, industrial, alternative energy, or alternative fuel and propulsion systems.
• Experience with low-carbon technologies and sustainable engineering solutions.
