Site Reliability Engineer (FedRAMP)

What you will do

• Get up to speed on VDC workloads and operational workflows; write and maintain runbooks, incident guides, and operational documentation.
• Participate in incident response (triage, investigation, mitigation, postmortems) and drive reliability improvements.
• Implement and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; support high availability and fault tolerance work on Azure (including Azure Government).
• Close observability gaps by implementing instrumentation, alerting, and dashboards; reduce toil via automation; participate in on-call rotations.
• Work with IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tooling in compliance-restricted environments; support canary deployments and release validation.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, compliance, and operations; communicate system behavior, risk, and status clearly.

Requirements

• 3+ years in software engineering, with at least 1 year in SRE, Platform Engineering, or DevOps for cloud-hosted services.
• Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure (or comparable cloud provider).
• Familiarity with regulated/compliance environments (e.g., FedRAMP, CMMC, PCI-DSS, HIPAA) and understanding how compliance affects operations.
• Ability to read and understand code to investigate system behavior independently.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform/Terragrunt/Pulumi) and Kubernetes; CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD); strong programming skills (TypeScript/JS, Go, Java, C#, or similar); distributed systems and networking fundamentals; clear written and verbal communication.
