Site Reliability Engineer

TL;DR

What you will do

• Design reliability operations: on-call rotations, incident roles and communication, blameless postmortems, and safer change management.
• Shape the platform roadmap by proposing reliability solutions and driving them through adoption.
• Build and operate the reliability toolkit: observability (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting), CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and incident response.
• Partner with product engineers to make services more operable and raise the team’s operational literacy.
• Define the first SLOs with product and engineering stakeholders based on what matters to patients and customers.
• Investigate incidents end to end and fix root causes via code and/or process changes; also support compliance/security posture (audit trails, access controls, environment isolation).

Requirements

• U.S. applicants only
• 5+ years in SRE, platform, DevOps, or backend roles with meaningful production ownership (pager, real incidents, measurable improvements).
• Comfortable with at least one general-purpose language (Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar) and willing to change application code when needed.
• Track record of solving problems (not only closing tickets) and explaining decisions and outcomes.
• Experience treating process as an engineering tool (e.g., improving reviews, on-call structure, postmortems).
• Experience in regulated environments (healthcare/fintech) and/or with HIPAA, SOC 2, or similar frameworks.
