Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Must be based in or near New York, NY (Hybrid: 10+ days per month in-office required).

Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and dashboards using New Relic across Azure and AWS environments.
• Develop and maintain Terraform infrastructure as code for observability resources and alert configurations.
• Establish incident management foundations, including postmortem processes, on-call rotations, and escalation policies.
• Coach stream-aligned engineering teams on SLOs, SLIs, and reliability best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and facilitate structured post-incident reviews.
• Optimize observability costs and improve signal quality by reducing alert noise.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
• Expert-level proficiency with New Relic and NRQL for troubleshooting and analysis.
• Strong Terraform experience for cloud infrastructure and monitoring resources.
• Proficiency with PowerShell for managing predominantly Windows-based environments.
• Strong experience with Azure (App Services, SQL, networking) and working knowledge of AWS.
• Experience with incident management platforms like Incident.IO, PagerDuty, or OpsGenie.

Nice to have

• Experience with alert noise reduction and observability cost optimization.
• Knowledge of VM-hosted SQL Server monitoring and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with FinTech compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Python or Bash scripting skills.
