Senior Associate Engineer (Mechanical)

What you will do

• Design and package engine components including castings, geartrain, valvetrain, and in-cylinder parts.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure designs meet functional, durability, and customer requirements.
• Diagnose technical issues to root cause and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Conduct FMEA and design reviews to identify risks and determine validation needs.
• Manage supplier interactions using APQP methodology.
• Maintain project progress documentation and report to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work in Peterborough, UK.
• Proven design experience of mechanical components using CAD (CREO).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.
• Technical background (HNC or degree in mechanical/automotive engineering preferred).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage and deliver tasks against commitments.

Nice to have

• Design knowledge of industrial diesel or alternative fuel engines.
• Experience with Team Centre or similar data management software.
• Knowledge of 8D problem solving and DVP&R.
• Experience in component and engine validation.
