What you will do

• Design gantries and end effectors using Fusion 360.
• Analyze end effector behavior from recordings and revise geometry to improve reliability.
• Conceive and build novel mechanical systems for handling electronics parts.
• Install, commission, and debug robots and wiring cabinets.
• Manage supplier relationships to facilitate machine builds.
• Specify sensor suites to ensure error detection during machine operation.

Requirements

• Proven experience with fast-paced mechanical design and 3D CAD.
• Experience designing and commissioning machined components as part of wider sub-systems.
• Practical experience building things (robotics, hobbyist, student, or professional).
• Must be based in or be able to work on-site in Cambridge, UK.

Nice to have

• Exposure to PLC systems, particularly Beckhoff TwinCAT.
• Experience programming and running CNC machinery.
• Design experience with chemical handling machinery or optics.
• Knowledge of various manufacturing methods, including sheet metal and injection moulding.
