What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems, microservices, and APIs.
• Implement stateful stream-processing applications to clean, transform, and window high-frequency telemetry and event data.
• Architect low-latency data models and schemas for relational, time-series, and caching layers.
• Collaborate with frontend and AI/data science to expose clean, structured data and AI insights via scalable APIs.
• Own the full development lifecycle: integration tests, code reviews, deployment, and monitoring pipeline health.
• Investigate and optimize bottlenecks, data serialization overhead, and query performance in production.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend systems and data pipeline development.
• Proficiency in Java and Python and/or Rust to build backend services.
• Experience with distributed messaging/event-driven architectures (e.g., Apache Pulsar or Kafka).
• Knowledge of data modeling for relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and in-memory data structures (e.g., Redis/Valkey).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Must be located in San Jose, California, United States; no work visa sponsorship is available for this position.
