Location: Must be based in the USA (specifically: CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, ME, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA). Hybrid options available in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL. Not hiring within the city limits of Chicago.

Salary: $200,000 – $330,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the development of large-scale software applications following quality-first standards.
• Influence critical architectural decisions to ensure systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical improvements and set standards.
• Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on best practices and technical standards.
• Take full ownership of technical initiatives and proactively address challenges based on support data.
• Advocate for and implement robust quality assurance practices.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Java software development for product applications.
• 5+ years of experience with highly scalable systems.
• Expertise in API design and RESTful services using frameworks like Spring Boot or Jersey.
• Strong knowledge of OOP design principles and relational database design.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Must be located in one of the approved US states; this position is NOT eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience with Kotlin.
• Experience with caching systems, particularly Redis.
