What you will do

• Oversee construction activities and monitor contractor compliance with safety regulations and contract requirements.
• Conduct daily safety reviews, site inspections, and generate comprehensive safety reports.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and track compliance with Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements.
• Review contractor safety documentation, including JHAs and safety plans, for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead safety discussions, toolbox talks, and safety orientations for field teams.
• Assess incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and share lessons learned across multiple project sites.

Requirements

• 10 years of commercial construction experience in the US with a General Contractor, including 5 years in California.
• 2 years of experience in construction of educational projects in a campus environment.
• Must hold a valid SMS, CHST, or CSMC certificate issued by BCSP or NASP.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification is required.
• Strong experience with demolition, renovation, and new construction building projects.
• Ability to travel between multiple job sites as needed.

Nice to have

• Degree in Construction Management, Safety Management, or related field.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Current OSHA 500 certification.
