Senior Principal Hardware Engineer (Physical Design)

Location: hirify.global US offices in San Jose, California or Raleigh, North Carolina

Annual salary: $136,500–$253,500 in California, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive logic synthesis, floorplanning, placement and routing, and clock construction for complex designs.
• Lead design execution from synthesis through GDS and tape-out.
• Optimize power, performance, and area against design requirements.
• Close designs against timing, power, IR/EM, physical verification, and foundry specifications.
• Improve tools, flows, and methodologies in collaboration with R&D teams.
• Collaborate with RTL, DFT, Architecture, and other cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• BS with at least 10 years of experience, MS with at least 7 years, or PhD with at least 5 years.
• 8–15+ years of relevant hands-on physical design experience.
• Successfully owned and driven blocks or SoCs through tape-out.
• Experience with advanced process nodes and technologies.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Perl, Python, Tcl, or Shell scripting.
