What you will do

• Perform physical design implementation of custom CPU designs from RTL to GDS.
• Conduct synthesis, place and route, clock tree synthesis, and floor planning.
• Execute static timing analysis, power distribution, and noise analysis.
• Perform verification and signoff including formal equivalence, DRC/LVS, and electrical rule checking.
• Collaborate with logic, circuit, and architecture teams to improve CPU microarchitectures.
• Work with EDA vendors to enhance tool capabilities for high-speed, low-power CPU design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years of relevant experience (with Bachelor’s) or 4+ years (with Master’s).
• 4+ years of experience in digital logic block synthesis.
• At least one successful Tape Out on advanced technologies.
• 4+ years of experience with IC design tools (Synopsys/Cadence) and TCL scripting.
• Must be able to work on-site in Austin, Texas.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of Tape Out experience.
• Strong knowledge of floor-planning, routing, and clock distribution techniques.
• Experience with CPU-level timing analysis and optimization.
• Expertise in RTL to GDS methodologies.
