Senior Insurance Accountant

Location: Atlanta, hybrid; requires two days in the office weekly

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Prepare and post journal entries for premiums, claims, reinsurance, investments, expense accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Manage reinsurance accounting, including cession statements, settlement calculations, reconciliations, and reinsurer coordination.
• Record investment activity, reconcile investment accounts, and support related reporting and disclosures.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, statutory statements, actuarial reserve entries, audit schedules, and responses to audit requests.
• Support accounts payable, expense accruals, process improvements, system enhancements, acquisitions, and integration initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong accounting knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.
• Three to five years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or equivalent business experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Oracle.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBA is applicable.
• Insurance industry experience is highly desired.
