Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst (Insurance Finance)

Location: Remote from the United States, with a home-office arrangement. Depending on the role, attendance at the office may be required for important departmental meetings or team-building events.

Salary: $67,371–$90,000 annually, plus annual performance-based bonus potential.

What you will do

• Prepare in-depth financial analyses, reports, statements, and analytical schedules to support management decisions.
• Evaluate the financial implications of business decisions and transactions.
• Develop, manipulate, test, and document complex financial models and system changes.
• Perform reinsurance accounting, including journal entries, general ledger analysis, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and balance insurance company Annual Statement supplemental schedules for regulatory filing.
• Support internal and external auditors and represent Finance on corporate teams and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience as a Financial Analyst, Accountant, or in a similar role.
• Experience preparing financial reports and analyzing and interpreting complex financial or statistical data.
• Experience using automated accounting or management reporting systems and Microsoft Office for financial modeling.
• Ability to analyze complex data, solve problems, make decisions, communicate effectively, and work independently.
• Ability to work irregular or extended hours when required.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or a master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Tax.
• Experience with complex journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and statutory financial statement preparation.
• Insurance or reinsurance accounting experience, including GAAP or Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Experience with regression analysis, business simulations, financial models, or reinsurance coverage placement.
• Knowledge of property and casualty insurance operations and the ability to interpret insurance and reinsurance contracts.
