Product Counsel (Crypto)

Location: New York, New York; Miami, Florida; or remote within the USA. The role follows a hybrid approach at U.S. hub offices, while employees outside hub areas may work remotely. In-person onboarding at one of the U.S. offices is required.

Salary: $162,500–$250,000 base salary in New York, excluding discretionary bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Advise product, design, marketing, and technology teams on legal, regulatory, and strategic issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support complex financial arrangements involving crypto custody, lending, OTC trading, payments, broker-dealer operations, prediction markets, and institutional products.
• Draft and negotiate complex customer and institutional agreements, including service-level standards and regulatory disclosures.
• Develop regulatory strategies for new product launches, licensing campaigns, and evolving financial services requirements.
• Build relationships with leadership, cross-functional partners, regulators, and external stakeholders on product-related legal matters.
• Collaborate with the General Counsel and Legal team to assess risks and develop practical solutions for business priorities.

Requirements

• JD degree.
• At least 6 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm or in-house.
• Fluent English required.
• Active membership in good standing of a U.S. state bar required.
• Experience providing legal and regulatory advice in complex, fast-paced business environments.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of lending, payments, and depository account regulations, including state money transmitter licensing, Reg Z, and Reg E.
• Familiarity with U.S. securities and derivatives laws, SEC and FINRA broker-dealer rules, and CFTC frameworks.
• Experience managing licensing applications and supervisory matters for regulated financial services businesses in the U.S. and abroad.
• Experience drafting customer-facing disclosures and terms for retail payments products.
• Background in fintech, digital assets, disruptive technology, or high-growth technology companies.
