Corporate Counsel (Fintech)

Location: New York-based positions require in-office collaboration for 10+ days per month.

Annual base salary for positions based in New York: $196,000–$245,000 USD, excluding equity, bonuses, and commissions.

What you will do

• Manage the growing portfolio of vendor agreements and streamline the contracting process.
• Support sales and business development teams with commercial transactions.
• Draft and negotiate term sheets and definitive transaction documents.
• Manage deal processes from negotiation through completion.
• Manage and budget for external legal advisors engaged on transactions.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, engineering, security, tax, and finance teams.

Requirements

• J.D. from a top-tier law school with strong academic credentials.
• At least 5 years of legal practice experience, ideally including corporate work at a major law firm and at a fintech startup.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and align agreements with internal policies and processes.
• Strong problem-solving, judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and make decisive recommendations.
• Ability to explain complex issues clearly and provide concise, practical, and effective legal advice.
