Senior DevSecOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Fully remote or hybrid depending on the role and program, based in the United States, with working hours aligned to Eastern Time from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role is associated with Washington, DC and requires occasional travel of less than 5% per year.

Salary: $106,300–$136,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines, contributing code, configuration, infrastructure updates, and vulnerability remediation.
• Design security gates for code quality, dependency and container scanning, secrets detection, infrastructure misconfiguration, and policy compliance.
• Secure Kubernetes and AWS EKS environments through image hardening, admission controls, runtime monitoring, network policies, workload identity, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
• Implement production monitoring for vulnerabilities and compliance drift, with on-demand security and compliance reporting.
• Translate security findings into actionable Jira work items and support remediation, validation, and closure.
• Collaborate with development and security teams in Agile ceremonies to improve engineering standards, designs, and delivery processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree plus four years of specialized IT experience, or eight years of relevant IT experience including four years of specialized experience.
• Must be a United States citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust clearance.
• Hands-on experience with secure CI/CD pipelines, automated security testing, vulnerability scanning, secrets detection, artifact signing, and release gates.
• Experience with SAST, SCA, DAST, container scanning, IaC scanning, SBOM generation, policy-as-code, and security automation.
• Hands-on AWS security experience with EKS, S3, VPC, Security Hub, Inspector, WAF, and Secrets Manager.
• Knowledge of federal security frameworks, NIST RMF, ATO, POA&Ms, continuous monitoring, compliance evidence, Jira, and Confluence.
