Senior DevOps Engineer (FedRAMP)

Location: Remote within the United States, with candidates based on the U.S. East Coast or able to consistently work an East Coast schedule. U.S. citizenship is required due to FedRAMP requirements. Regular collaboration includes an 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time standup Monday through Thursday.

Annual salary: $170,000–$200,000, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, and improve cloud infrastructure supporting U.S. federal and FedRAMP-authorized environments.
• Administer and troubleshoot production Kubernetes environments, including AWS GovCloud deployments.
• Develop reusable Terraform infrastructure-as-code components and use Ansible for configuration, deployment, hardening, and operational automation.
• Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for development and production environments.
• Build monitoring, alerting, self-healing, and observability capabilities using logs, dashboards, SLOs, and SLAs.
• Investigate production incidents, remediate vulnerabilities, and collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance teams on FedRAMP requirements.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to work in the United States are required.
• At least three years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, platform, cloud, or site reliability engineering.
• Two to three years of hands-on production Kubernetes experience, including Helm.
• Hands-on experience designing cloud infrastructure with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tooling, plus practical Ansible experience.
• Experience with public-cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS and AWS GovCloud, and with FedRAMP-authorized or compliant environments.
• Experience with CI/CD, monitoring and observability tools, Python, Java, or Go, Bash, operating systems, networking, storage, and file-system management.

Nice to have

• Direct participation in FedRAMP authorization or continuous monitoring programs.
• Experience implementing security controls, defining authorization boundaries, resolving POA&M items, collecting audit evidence, and supporting recurring audits.
• Experience working with FIPS requirements and vulnerability remediation in FedRAMP environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
