Group Strategy Director, E-commerce (eCommerce Strategy): Lead the development, growth, and strategic direction of the eCommerce Strategy discipline across the agency with an accent on scaling frameworks, governance, and omnichannel strategy execution. Focus on mentoring strategy leaders, building proprietary methodologies across SEO/AEO/GEO and digital shelf optimization, and driving measurable client outcomes across major retailers and marketplaces.
Location: Hybrid (Toronto, ON, Canada)
Salary: $150,000–$165,000 CAD annually

What you will do
- Define and scale eCommerce strategic frameworks, toolkits, and insight-driven methodologies across client engagements.
- Create and enforce governance standards, including QA protocols, KPI frameworks, strategic intake processes, and performance bench.
- Oversee strategy development across a portfolio of clients and collaborate with Creative and Account leads on holistic campaign strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of eCommerce Strategy Directors and junior strategists, including onboarding and training plans.
- Develop proprietary methodologies across SEO, AEO, GEO, and digital shelf optimization; stay current on marketplace changes and retailer algorithms.
- Drive business development by translating client challenges into strategic solutions, supporting RFP evaluation, and representing the agency in pitches.
Requirements
- 10+ years in digital strategy, including 4–5 years leading eCommerce-focused initiatives.
- Experience leading and mentoring strategy teams.
- Experience in CPG and Retail verticals.
- Deep knowledge of major retailer platforms (Amazon, Walmart, Target), SEO, PDP strategy, and content syndication tools.
- Experience with platforms such as Helium 10, Walmart Connect, Amazon Ads/Vendor Central, Profitero, Stackline, Salsify, Vizit, or similar.
- Strong understanding of major retail media platforms (Amazon and Walmart) and the global eCommerce landscape.
