Mechanical Applications Engineer (Material Handling)

Location: Remote in the United States; Irving, Texas, or Atlanta, Georgia. Travel: 25%, including domestic and international business travel.

What you will do

• Create mechanical concepts, equipment manifests, process flow diagrams, material flow diagrams, and bases of design from customer RFP requirements.
• Support bids from RFP receipt through proposal submission, including vendor RFQs, technical statements of work, proposals, and presentations.
• Lead material handling system design and select equipment to improve processing efficiency and meet end-user requirements.
• Provide technical expertise during customer sales meetings and collaborate with sales, project management, manufacturing, service, and execution teams.
• Ensure mechanical designs align with electrical controls and software interfaces, and support system simulation and emulation testing.
• Transfer awarded projects to execution and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of mechanical engineering or application engineering experience in industrial automation, material handling, supply chain, or related environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and Navisworks for layouts, system concepts, modeling, drafting, and design modifications.
• Experience designing and supporting conveyors, automated material handling systems, robotics, or intralogistics solutions.
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, specifications, bills of materials, and customer-facing technical documentation.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience with pre-sales, solution development, project implementation, commissioning, and remote or distributed teams.
