TL;DR
Director Of International Accounting (Finance/ERP): Strategic and operational owner of all financial accounting activities across global entities with an accent on international close, audit processes, and statutory compliance. Focus on driving automation, implementing process efficiencies, and bridging communication between US Headquarters and international subsidiaries.

Location: Must be based in or be able to work from the Lincoln (UK) or Leusden (Netherlands) offices (Hybrid possibilities available).

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the international accounting team to ensure accuracy and timeliness in all financial activities.
  • Own and manage the statutory and internal audit processes for all international companies across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensure full compliance with international VAT/GST and local tax reporting requirements.
  • Direct the international month-end close process, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Proactively identify and implement automation initiatives and process improvements within the accounting function.
  • Partner cross-functionally with business leaders to integrate accounting insights into global operations.

Requirements

  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time at a Big 4 or similar audit firm and in-house at an international company with a U.S. parent.
  • Expert knowledge of UK GAAP, NL GAAP, and international VAT regulations.
  • Proven track record of driving automation and process improvements.
  • Strong fluency in ERP systems (Workday, NetSuite, SAP or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Must be based in the UK or Netherlands.
