TL;DR

People Operations Specialist (Operations/People): Own end-to-end onboarding, pre-boarding, recruiting coordination, and offboarding workflows while building the operational backbone for scaling. Focus on high-ownership execution across People systems, SF office operations, and people analytics with an accent on fast process automation and seamless employee experience.

Location: San Francisco (Hybrid)

Salary: $100K–$160K (Offers Equity)

What you will do

  • Own onboarding and pre-boarding end-to-end, ensuring logistics, systems, and manager plans are ready and tracking Day 1, Week 1, and 30/90-day milestones.
  • Run recruiting coordination by scheduling interviews, managing candidate experience, and partnering with People leadership and hiring managers to keep the process fast and well-communicated.
  • Drive offboarding execution by managing separation workflows, documentation, and cross-functional coordination with IT, Finance, and managers.
  • Operate and improve People systems by maintaining data accuracy across tools (e.g., Gusto, Windmill), supporting payroll and benefits, and streamlining workflows.
  • Manage the SF office and employee experience by overseeing office operations, vendors, events, and ensuring a high-quality in-office and remote experience.
  • Support People analytics and reporting by maintaining dashboards (headcount, attrition, onboarding progress) and contributing to monthly People recaps.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced, people-facing role, preferably in a high-growth or startup environment.
  • Strong organization and detail orientation with urgency and ownership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across internal and external channels.
  • Experience supporting recruiting coordination or candidate experience.
  • Familiarity with People tools such as Ashby, Notion, Gusto, or similar.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid schedule with an office in San Francisco.

  • Exposure to People analytics or reporting.
  • Experience in high-growth startup environments.
