Salary: $38.25 - $53.56 per hour (approx. $79,560 - $111,404 annually).

What you will do
- Learn to establish and update grid operating limits and document procedures for safe system operation.
- Conduct operating studies including power flow, short circuit, stability, and post-transient analysis.
- Assist in developing and documenting operating requirements to adhere to NERC reliability standards.
- Model transmission constraints to ensure efficient market operations and validate market prices.
- Develop automated programs for monitoring transmission system performance and detecting operational issues.
- Collaborate with operations planning teams to communicate current and next-day grid plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a curriculum in Electrical Power Engineering.
- Must be based in or able to relocate to Folsom, CA (Relocation assistance provided).
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle a dynamic, changing work environment.
Nice to have
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Experience with simulation programs such as PSS/E, GE PSLF, Powerworld Simulator, or DSATools.
- Knowledge of electric utility operations, planning, electricity markets, or SCADA/EMS systems.
- Familiarity with the California Electric System or WECC system.
