Sr. Product Engineer (UAV)

Location: Moorpark, California, United States; onsite work in office and manufacturing environments is required. Frequent travel to suppliers, system tests, and customers is also required.

Salary: $122,500–$187,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead sustaining engineering support for UAV systems used in military and commercial applications.
• Develop, test, and release product improvements, product variants, prototype hardware, and design modifications.
• Manage product configuration, engineering change orders, and product data in Oracle PLM.
• Release and maintain drawings, bills of materials, manufacturing procedures, manuals, acceptance test procedures, tooling, and test equipment documentation.
• Act as the technical point of contact for manufacturing, customer, supplier, and product issues, including failure analysis and obsolescence management.
• Coordinate engineering activities with product managers, project managers, design engineers, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 8–12 years of related experience in engineering design and production product support.
• Experience with unmanned air vehicles, RF, digital and communications electronics, electronics manufacturing troubleshooting, PCB layout, schematics, and assemblies.
• Experience with CAD and Altium, including ASME Y14 drawing standards, configuration management, and production assembly documentation.
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, mathematics, physics, material properties, electronics, systems, and software.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR requirements; U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Nice to have

• Lean Six Sigma experience or Green Belt certification.
• Advanced degree or team leadership experience.
• Experience with Oracle PLM product configuration management and MIL-HDBK-61A or EIA-649-B standards.
• Experience solving structural dynamics problems and evaluating complex technical issues.
