Senior Software Engineer (AI Authentication)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid role

Salary: CAD 136,000–187,000 annual base salary, plus equity where applicable, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build innovative identity and security features for the Agentic AI era.
• Develop and maintain scalable services using TypeScript, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Help lead identity protocol work for Auth0's GenAI offering.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to deliver identity and access capabilities for GenAI applications.
• Write testable, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and system design discussions.
• Improve observability, alerting, reliability, and performance across distributed services.

Requirements

• Strong programming experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and familiarity with NodeJS runtime environments.
• Practical experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code and work effectively in iterative development environments.
• Experience with architecture principles across infrastructure, security, data, integration, and application layers.
• Experience building resilient products that scale.
• Strong communication, systematic problem-solving, autonomy, and ownership.

Nice to have

• Understanding of IAM and identity and access management concepts.
• Experience with AI agents and the intersection of AI, identity, and security.
• Experience creating and maintaining public and secure APIs.
• Knowledge of Datadog, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.
