Senior Software Developer, Mid-Market

Location: Toronto, ON, or Saskatoon, SK. Hybrid work is prioritized, with offices in Toronto and Saskatoon.

Base compensation: CAD $130,000–$180,000.

What you will do

• Design and build data structures and pipelines for rollup reporting across multi-location restaurant groups, from schema design through beta delivery.
• Architect and lead early development of a scalable permissions and authorization system using role-based access control.
• Define the migration path from existing permissions systems and sequence the transition safely.
• Partner with product, data, engineering, and leadership stakeholders to prioritize work, estimate delivery, and communicate risks and architectural decisions.
• Use AI agents, spec-driven development, and agentic tools for code generation and debugging.
• Raise the squad’s technical bar through code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience building production software.
• Experience with data modeling or permissions and authorization as central system concerns.
• Ownership of systems end to end, including technical design, delivery, support, and iteration.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into maintainable solutions and improve large, evolving codebases incrementally.
• Strong judgment across speed, quality, performance, and long-term maintainability.
• Clear cross-functional communication and experience mentoring developers or leading technical discussions.

Nice to have

• Experience with data lake or warehouse tools such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or AWS equivalents.
• Experience in a domain where accuracy, reliability, and real-time data are business-critical.
