TL;DR
Software Developer, Mid-Market (AI): Building rollup reporting data structures and pipelines plus a scalable permissions and authorization system for multi-location restaurant groups with an accent on relational data modeling, RBAC, and full-cycle web application development. Focus on defining greenfield architecture, validating AI-assisted code, and solving production issues across the full delivery cycle.
Location: Hybrid work with offices in Toronto and Saskatoon, Canada
Salary: CAD $80,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do
- Build and maintain data structures and pipelines for rollup reporting across multi-location restaurant groups.
- Contribute to a new permissions and authorization system with role-based access control at scale.
- Develop, review, and validate production code using AI-assisted development tools.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product, and data teams to deliver pragmatic, maintainable solutions.
- Investigate and resolve production issues and customer-reported bugs.
- Own work from technical design through deployment and contribute to engineering standards and discussions.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional experience building, deploying, and maintaining web applications and services in a team environment.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and backend development, including data modeling and permissions systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a greenfield codebase, communicate clearly, manage priorities, and make sound technical trade-offs.
- Experience using AI development tools such as Claude as part of a professional workflow.
- Customer-focused mindset and strong ownership of delivering high-quality code.
Nice to have
- Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or comparable AWS data lake or warehouse tooling.
- Experience in a domain where accuracy, reliability, and real-time data are business-critical.
- Restaurant-tech experience or production experience with Elixir.
