Senior Software Developer, Backend (Forma Admin)

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver, Canada

Salary: CAD 107,000–157,300 annual base salary; offers may exceed this range based on experience and geographic location. Additional compensation may include annual bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Research, design, build, and test software features and system components for Forma Admin.
• Reimagine user access controls and improve the flexibility and security of access and permission models.
• Develop and maintain tier 1 core APIs and critical datasets used by ACS products.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other system errors.
• Collaborate with domestic and international teams, document technical designs, and participate in code reviews and pull requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of backend and distributed systems engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing backend solutions with Node.js, or a strong desire to learn it.
• Expertise with SQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Ability to design scalable, highly available, resilient, and cost-effective cloud applications, preferably on AWS.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex software problems into technical tasks.
