Buyer/Planner

TL;DR

Buyer/Planner (Procurement/Planning): Managing procurement responsibilities for multiple business areas, creating sourcing strategies, negotiating suppliers, and ensuring cost, quality, and delivery targets are met with an accent on supplier performance, PO expediting, and data-driven forecasting. Focus on cross-functional coordination for component gating and kit releases while leading continuous improvement in procurement.

What you will do

• Represent supply chain in procurement activities and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodity/categories.
• Negotiate suppliers, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and reduce risk.
• Manage supplier performance, on-time delivery, and quality metrics; escalate and resolve supplier issues.
• Collaborate with shop planning, production, and engineering to support component gating and kit releases.
• Perform data-driven and trend analysis to identify opportunities and forecast needs; support master planning with lead-time updates.
• Place and expedite purchase orders, monitor PO status and delivery dates, and provide reliable completion/delivery dates to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, or a related field.
• OR Associate’s degree in Business, Analytics, or a related field plus 2 years of procurement/planning experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to complete a full physical including bloodwork and Pulmonary Function testing.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or professional certifications.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Experience supporting lean manufacturing.
