Engineer - Principal (NVH): Developing and supporting massively parallel finite-element and multiphysics tools for tire performance prediction with an accent on structural dynamics, acoustics, solid mechanics, and NVH modeling. Focus on maintaining the NVH modeling strategy, developing simulation methods, validating models, and transferring complex engineering technology into new tire products and tools.

What you will do
- Drive, maintain, and support the NVH modeling strategy.
- Develop and maintain finite-element code and methods for solid mechanics, acoustics, and tire performance prediction.
- Provide training, user support, debugging, and technical assistance for tire performance tools.
- Identify tire performance technologies, define and document engineering rules, and implement them in knowledge and performance manuals.
- Participate in applied and fundamental tire engineering projects leading to new products, processes, tools, and technologies.
Requirements
- MSc degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong theoretical knowledge of structural dynamics and acoustics.
- Graduate-level knowledge of computational solid mechanics, multiscale methods, computational acoustics, nonlinear finite elements, material models, contact mechanics, validation testing, and model updating.
- Experience with Abaqus, Nastran, or Ansys, focused on NVH simulations.
- Experience with Git, IDEs, Agile practices, group work, multiple projects, and Linux.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, motivational, and complex-problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- PhD in structural dynamics and/or acoustics.
- 10 or more years of experience developing numerical simulation or multiphysics tools focused on structural dynamics and acoustics.
- Hands-on NVH testing and signal-processing experience.
- Programming experience with Python, C++, Bash, and JavaScript.
