Π’Π΅ΠΊΡΡ:
TL;DR
Virtual Analysis Engineer (BIW Manufacturing): Evaluating vehicle designs and body-in-white manufacturability through digital simulation, with an accent on weldability, accessibility, sealing, part handling, and manufacturing requirements. Focus on identifying feasibility risks, analyzing robot and station constraints, validating interbuildability, and coordinating process-friendly design improvements across engineering and manufacturing teams.
Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid attendance required at least 3 times per week
Company
develops vehicles and mobility solutions with a focus on safety, emissions reduction, and congestion reduction.
What you will do
- Evaluate vehicle designs and body-in-white manufacturability against Body Manufacturing Requirements.
- Analyze weldability, sealing, weld-gun access, part handling, robot reach, station constraints, sequencing, and product placement.
- Use Siemens Teamcenter, TcVIS, NX, and Tecnomatix Process Simulate/Designer for digital validation and virtual manufacturing studies.
- Identify requirement gaps, feasibility concerns, and manufacturing risks, then create issue reports and KPI charts.
- Communicate findings and recommended actions across Product Engineering, Stamping, Body Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing Integration.
- Manage virtual analysis activities, validate interbuildability, and recommend manufacturing-driven design improvements within program milestones.
