Electronic Repair Technician, External

hirify.global operates an internal repair facility supporting semiconductor equipment and wafer-handling systems.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot and repair wafer-handling robots, PCB assemblies, controllers, and complex electro-mechanical equipment at the component level.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit designs while performing root-cause analysis.
• Conduct functional, load, and post-repair validation using advanced test equipment and instrumentation.
• Develop or improvise circuits and test setups for unique repair requirements.
• Document completed repairs in internal database systems and follow electrical, mechanical, and chemical safety procedures.
• Collaborate with customers, cross-functional teams, and management in a fast-paced repair environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of bench-level electronic repair experience.
• Associate’s degree in Electronics or equivalent technical training.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, with intermediate circuit design and analysis skills.
• Experience with voltage meters, ESR equipment, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other complex instrumentation.
• Experience with through-hole, surface-mount, and fine-pitch soldering, plus mechanical aptitude involving motor encoders, pneumatics, hydraulics, and fluidics.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, adapt to shifting priorities, and lift 50+ pounds when required.

Nice to have

• Experience repairing ABM XXX or similar Brooks Automation robots.
• Experience repairing, rebuilding, and testing AC/DC servo and stepper motors.
• Knowledge of discrete components, power electronics, and control systems.
• Experience with LabVIEW, MultiSim, Cadence, or equivalent electrical design and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with VHDL, Verilog, and JTAG.
