What you will do

• Develop and present cross-functional system solutions, including concepts, silicon design, and validation plans.
• Execute software bring-up, bench builds, software porting, and PCB design reviews.
• Identify root causes of technical issues and drive resolutions cross-functionally with customers and partners.
• Manage cross-functional enterprise plans to ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide technical training to customers and internal NXP colleagues.
• Collaborate with R&D and marketing to influence the design of future product offerings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in development engineering or applications support for microcontroller-based embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C and C++ with a proven record of developing embedded firmware.
• Knowledge of SoC hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, MIPI, SDIO, LP DDR3/4, and SPI.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within California and Michigan.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ARM Cortex processors.
• Experience with RTOS systems: SafeRTOS, FreeRTOS, or Zephyr.
• Knowledge of graphics and video subsystems and related software drivers.
• Previous experience as a Field Application Engineer or in automotive electronics development.
