Location: On-site in Torrance, California, United States. Work takes place across office, laboratory, prototype, build, and production-floor environments, with occasional travel and schedule flexibility during critical activities. Candidates must be able to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
Salary: $96,350–$204,090 USD annually, depending on evaluated level.

What you will do
- Own mechanical design and development of factory automation components and subsystems from concept through detailed design, release, build, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Translate system requirements into component requirements, interfaces, constraints, and acceptance criteria.
- Create CAD models, engineering drawings, GD&T schemes, tolerance analyses, engineering calculations, component selections, and bills of material.
- Develop and evaluate solutions involving structures, mechanisms, precision motion, fluids, thermal systems, sealing, enclosures, and machine integration.
- Support prototyping, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, fleet investigations, and design iteration.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to release and deploy production hardware.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience designing and developing mechanical components and subsystems from concept through detailed design, build, test, and release.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, component selection, and design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Hands-on experience building prototypes and supporting integration, testing, troubleshooting, and iteration of mechanical equipment.
- Ability to collaborate across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Ability to perform hands-on work around industrial equipment and occasionally lift or carry up to 25 lb.
Nice to have
- Experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, or Oracle.
- Experience with industrial automation, industrial robotics, capital equipment, additive manufacturing, welding systems, machine tools, or related production technologies.
- Experience designing precision mechanisms, motion systems, fluid systems, thermal systems, vacuum systems, structural assemblies, or machine enclosures.
- Experience with engineering change control, configuration management, supplier collaboration, contract manufacturing, and production hardware qualification.
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
