TL;DR

Counsel, Intellectual Property (Legal): Providing strategic legal guidance on IP issues arising from content production, brand development, and global expansion with an accent on trademark and copyright matters. Focus on supporting Universal Destinations & Experiences, managing global IP enforcement, and advising on complex contractual transactions.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from the Universal City, CA office (Hybrid: 4 days/week on-site)

Salary: $140,000 - $170,000 yearly

What you will do

• Advise senior creative and business executives on trademark, copyright, and domain name matters.
• Manage clearance of trademarks, titles, and character names for strategic initiatives.
• Oversee prosecution and enforcement of IP assets domestically and internationally.
• Conduct due diligence for licenses, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Manage domain name acquisitions and UDRP proceedings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen global IP strategy.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in trademark or IP law at a firm or corporate setting.
• JD or LLM degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be a member in good standing of the California State Bar or eligible to register as in-house counsel in California.
• Ability to work on-site in Universal City, CA at least 4 days per week.
• Strong project management skills and ability to handle high-priority tasks under pressure.
