Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Provide technical support and direction to production departments and skilled trades.
• Manage mechanical engineering projects including new installations, refurbishments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Investigate equipment and conveyance system problems to provide technical input for resolution.
• Oversee safety contractor management and enforce safe work practices as the highest priority.
• Develop cost estimates, investment forecasts, and business cases for mechanical project initiatives.
• Coordinate with headquarters engineering groups to promote common systems and share best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Must be able to work onsite in Lansing, Michigan.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work off-shifts or weekends when required for project execution.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience as a conveyor engineer or in manufacturing/maintenance roles.
• Knowledge of process engineering disciplines including plant layouts and simulation.
• Familiarity with NX software.
• Previous experience with skilled trades supervision.
