LMS & Kitting Industrial Engineer (Lean Material Systems): Implement lean material systems that support safe, efficient, and cost-effective assembly operations with an accent on optimizing material flow, part presentation, kitting, sequencing, storage, and delivery methods. Focus on developing PFEP station reviews, maintaining material flow and routing documentation, designing lineside layouts using CAD tools, and driving productivity improvements through work measurement and continuous improvement.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement lean material system strategies to improve material flow, reduce waste, and support plant safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Define and optimize part presentation methods (direct-to-line, kitting, minomi, sequencing, bulk, repack) based on plant and operational requirements.
  • Support PFEP development and lead station-by-station reviews to determine delivery methods, material handling requirements, and presentation devices.
  • Create and maintain accurate material flow data, part routings, and master part tracking documentation for future programs and steady-state operations.
  • Develop layouts and space utilization plans for lineside presentation, storage areas, kitting cells, repack areas, routes, and support equipment using CAD/visualization tools.
  • Drive labor optimization and productivity improvements using work measurement, indirect labor analysis, route planning, and standardized lean material handling practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in industrial engineering, lean material strategies, supply chain, material operations, manufacturing, or continuous improvement.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment with strong background in lean systems and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of material flow, kitting, sequencing, part presentation, routing, storage, and internal material handling systems.
  • Experience supporting PFEP development, standardized work, and launch or change management activities.
  • Ability to work/rotate through all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and work overtime/weekends/holidays as needed.
