Associate Director, Contracting (Pharmaceuticals)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid-eligible with remote work allowed up to two days per week, or on-site five days per week with ad hoc flexibility.

Salary: $152,000–$228,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual bonus and annual equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end payer contract development, including pre-deal analytics, negotiations, post-deal analytics, governance, redlining, legal review, tracking, and reporting.
• Facilitate the administration of payer, provider, and trade and distribution contracts across Vertex product lines.
• Maintain contract calendars, bid and offer matrices, documentation, and execution-status communications.
• Transition executed contracts to operational teams for implementation and adjudication, explaining key terms and requirements.
• Provide insights for gross-to-net forecasting, pricing, contracting strategy, business planning, and contract performance reviews.
• Advise on rebate analysis, payments, contract administration, financial modeling, and resolution of rebate-claim disputes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in payer contracting, contract administration, or analytics within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or related industries.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing government programs, associated regulations, managed care, formulary coverage, market share, and profitability.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, with strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external subject-matter experts.
• Ability to work in Boston in a hybrid or on-site arrangement.
