TL;DR

Weld Program Manager (Engineering): Leading and administering the organization’s welding program within the Quality function with an accent on compliance, traceability, and program governance. Focus on developing and overseeing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), performing NDE evaluations, and ensuring audit readiness across operations.

Location: New Berlin, Wisconsin, United States (Onsite)

Salary: $103,000 - $135,000 yearly

What you will do

  • Develop, qualify, and oversee Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder certification programs.
  • Monitor subcontractor welding procedures and personnel qualifications to ensure compliance with regulatory and project requirements.
  • Evaluate nondestructive examination (NDE) activities and reports to verify adherence to acceptance criteria.
  • Provide technical leadership in welding engineering, metallurgy, and process selection, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Lead root cause investigations, failure analysis, and corrective action activities to improve process performance.
  • Manage material and weld traceability programs and conduct final databook reviews for contractual validation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience in welding program leadership.
  • Experience managing welding programs in certified environments such as ASME U/R, AISC, or DoD/MIL.
  • Deep knowledge of welding qualifications, inspection methods, and documentation control.
  • Proven track record in audit support and subcontractor oversight.
  • Must be based in or able to work onsite in New Berlin, Wisconsin, USA.

Nice to have

  • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification.
