TL;DR

Senior Metallurgical Engineer (Metallurgy): Developing metallurgical products and performing failure analysis investigations with an accent on material testing, root cause analysis, and design support. Focus on optimizing component reliability through heat treatment and casting process analysis.

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Mossville, IL. Domestic relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $112,710 – $169,060

What you will do

  • Lead material and material failure analysis investigations for a wide variety of components.
  • Develop metallurgical testing plans and analyze results to provide design support.
  • Create detailed technical reports and procedures for internal customers.
  • Provide technical support to metallurgical laboratory operations and product design teams.
  • Support deviation requests and assurance of supply opportunities.
  • Collaborate with supplier development engineers to ensure manufacturing quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical or Materials Science Engineering.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; Visa Sponsorship is NOT available.
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to determine root causes of organizational problems.
  • Proficiency in project management and adherence to manufacturing standards and policies.
  • Ability to design and execute product testing strategies to ensure quality.
  • Excellent communication skills for transmitting and interpreting technical ideas.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Prior failure analysis experience with ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Experience with foundry, casting, and heat treatment processes.
  • Experience in component design or supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Proven track record of creating technical publications or reports.
