What you will do

• Collaborate with design and engineering partners to finalize engineering criteria.
• Lead the development of integrated solutions to resolve packaging issues while protecting design intent.
• Apply DFSS methodologies to manage tradeoffs in cost, mass, timing, and assembly.
• Create and refine NX models to guide surface development and support design decisions.
• Ensure packaging models align with customer-facing targets like visibility, storage, and occupant accommodation.
• Benchmark competitive vehicles to ensure package competitiveness and functional performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a related engineering area.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Proficiency in CAD, specifically Unigraphics/NX.
• Strong understanding of automotive design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work on-site in Warren, MI at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• DFSS Black Belt certification.
• Coursework in statistics, mechanics of materials, or vehicle/occupant packaging.
