What you will do

• Take full ownership of core backend applications and define a scalable, performant architecture.
• Guide the team through complex technical challenges, including the rewriting of large-scale custom middleware.
• Partner with the Product Lead to balance the roadmap between business features and technical debt reduction.
• Mentor and coach Backend Engineers to simplify system complexity and advance their careers.
• Lead the hiring and onboarding of engineering talent.
• Research and propose modern technologies for message queuing, data normalization, and observability.

Requirements

• Recent hands-on experience with Laravel.
• Experience developing synchronous APIs.
• Proficiency with message queue systems such as SQS, RabbitMQ, or equivalents.
• Experience working with AWS, Terraform, MySQL, and Redis.
• Ability to take end-to-end ownership of builds, including automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Proven ability to handle complex technical tasks independently and act as a multiplier for team efforts.
