Studio Design Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Collaborate with creative design partners to refine and finalize engineering criteria.
• Lead the development of integrated solutions to resolve packaging issues while maintaining design aesthetics.
• Apply DFSS methodologies to manage tradeoffs in mass, cost, timing, and assembly.
• Create and maintain NX models to guide surface development and evaluate design alternatives.
• Lead cross-functional surface and integration meetings to drive issue resolution.
• Benchmark competitive vehicles to ensure package competitiveness and functional performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a related engineering area.
• Proficiency in CAD software, specifically Unigraphics/NX.
• Strong understanding of automotive design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Must be authorized to work in the US; no immigration sponsorship provided.
• Ability to work on-site in Warren, MI at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Coursework in statistics, mechanics of materials, or vehicle packaging.
• DFSS Black Belt certification.
