Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings and travel are required, including visits to the manufacturing site in Columbia, South Carolina, and the Innovation Center in Novi, Michigan.
Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

is developing electrified and digitally enabled rugged SUVs and pickup trucks, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.
What you will do
- Lead end-to-end development of assigned exterior and interior subsystems from concept design through production launch.
- Make technical decisions, approve solutions, and serve as the primary engineering owner for assigned systems.
- Coordinate planning and delivery across engineering, design, manufacturing, purchasing, finance, quality, logistics, and technical program teams.
- Manage technical performance, cost, quality, timing, sourcing documentation, and vehicle integration targets.
- Track engineering changes, conduct technical evaluations, manage trade-offs, and drive issue resolution through production release.
- Monitor project timing and ensure subsystem deliverables meet program requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; a master’s degree and significant experience are advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in body engineering development or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong understanding of system physics, including loads, forces, system function, design trade-offs, packaging, and customer experience.
- CAD design experience for closure systems or related vehicle components; Catia V5 or 3DX experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience analyzing structural performance, motion forces, kinematics, manufacturing options, system requirements, and automotive development processes.
- Ability to manage component development under cost, weight, and timing constraints and travel to suppliers, manufacturing, and testing facilities.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Volkswagen Group tools and processes.
- Master’s degree in engineering.
- Experience with Catia V5 and/or 3DX.
